The 2022- 2023 Annual Work Plan is Malawi’s fifth work plan which takes into account a number of activities, resource and timelines and the monitoring mechanisms for achieving the objectives of the Strategic Plan.

The main objectives of the 2022/23 Annual Work Plan as an operational tool are:
- To ensure that Malawi is in compliance with the EITI international standard
- To contribute to the achievement of MWEITI national strategic outcomes
- facilitate building of the capacity of the stakeholders in the implementation of EITI standard in the country
